Environmental Learning Community
Learning Communities bring new freshmen together and group them with freshmen that have similar interests. Each learning community student is assigned a peer mentor. Learning Communities engage students through social, educational and community-based activities. Students in Learning Communities tend to have lower dropout rates, higher GPAs and take leadership roles.
As co-director of the Environmental Learning Community from 2018-2022, I oversaw the peer mentors, had classes with the new freshmen and helped orchestrate student programs. Working with Jen Hunsinger, Debbie Chamberlain and my Learning Community mentors has been a great privilege.
