Environmental Learning Community
Learning Communities bring new freshmen together and group them with freshmen that have similar interests. Each learning community student is assigned a peer mentor. Learning Communities engage students through social, educational and community based activities. Students in Learning Communities tend to have lower dropout rates, higher GPAs and take leadership roles.
As Co-director of the Environmental Learning Community, I oversee the peer mentors, have classes with the new freshmen and help orchestrate student programs. Working with Jen Hunsinger, Debbie Chamberlain and my Learning Community mentors has been a great privilege.
